I am struggling to find a marriage for Annie Dockerty to a Sykes, I have no first name to go by. I know that they had children, Edward R, Elsie, Kenneth and Frances, there was also another child which I am unable to find the name.

I've got that bit as Edward is my Grandad. The only thing I've got on Annie is Birth year c 1887 death year 1950.

Hello Wendy, you really need to give us more info to work from.

What else do you know about her or her children?

Would be a good idea to buy Edward's birth certificate to get all of the info.

Wendy

Wendy Report 18 Feb 2013 19:11

Annie is definitely Edward's Mother's name. Mary is Annie's Sister.

Wendy, you had that bit but we didn't.

You need to give dates and locations when asking for help

Wendy

Wendy Report 18 Feb 2013 19:15

Kenneth was born in 1921, Edward May 1918, Frances 1915 and Elsie 1913.
Annie has brothers Thomas, Edward and James and 1 Sister Mary. Their parents were Ann and Thomas Dockerty.

I hope this helps.

Why do you think it was Annie that married a Sykes ?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 18 Feb 2013 19:30

So it was the older sister Mary who married the Sykes, not Annie?

Wendy

Wendy Report 18 Feb 2013 19:32

As Annie is my Grandad's (Edward) Mother, I've asked my Mum what she called her and it was always Grandma Sykes.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 18 Feb 2013 19:33

.. so she could have been Mary?

Get you grandfather's birth certificate to see if his mother was Annie or Mary
