Lisa..I think that you may have the wrong information................John and Mary are on the 1851..with the three children i mention above...........but no Elizabeth....

Elizabeth Johnson appears on the 1861 grand daughter of Mary Vasey widow.....trouble is that the Mary Vasey married to John Vasey on the 1851 was born in Durham..is a widow in 1861..if she is the same person.....the answer to your problem is that either Selina Jane or Ed Anne..married a guy called Johnson..in order to create a grand daughter names Johnson.......trouble is..Selina would only have been 14 if she was baptised soon after birth........there MAY have been an earlier child JANE VASEY daughter of John and Mary 10.12.1820..who.if she is the daughter of the same parents..would be old enough.
The other thing of course is that dates given are Baptisms..not Births..and many children were baptised years after they were born.....

If Elizabeth married, and knew her father, his details will be on her marriage cert

Where have you looked in trying to find info about the Vaseys?

Hello Lisa...........I have found a John Vasey 1787 who married a \mary..and three of their children were:- Selina Jane 1823..Ed(?) Anne 1825 and Joseph 1832.....it might be worth checking the 1841 census for Joseph, which might give you clues....in fact I'll go look now!!..

Hi,

I am having difficulty finding information on my great great great great grandparents John Vasey born 1789 and his wife Mary 1790, both from Durham. I cant seem to locate any records relating to their marriage or children. They brought up their granddaughter Elizabeth Johnson born 1837 who was living with them during the 1841-1861 cenus.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
