About three months ago I was helped on here but after that progress halted. I have decided to have one last attempt at this line and would appreciate a set of eyes to run over it.

I have John King b. 1842 St. Neots and family. I have gathered the information on John and his own immediate family but on 1851 census, St Neots, John is there age 9 living with his family. The census reads: William King age 38 farm labourer, James son 20 farm labourer, Phoebe dau 13, and young John age 9. There is no sign of a wife. I have tried for a marriage but to no avail and tried to find William on 1841 but again no success. Would anyone be prepared to have just a quick cursory glance to see if they can spot William on '41 or a possible marriage. I will keep looking in the meantime. Many thanks.

Brummiejan - thank you very much. At least I know now that William's wife was a Mary. How on earth did you find them ?

I looked for Phoebe as such an unusual name. Just put in King (no 1st name), birth year 1838+/- 2 years, and put 'St Neots' in keywords box. Then just a case of scrolling down!
Have sent correction for the name (this was all found on Ancestry by the way).

ADDED it's a shame Phoebe's birth doesn't seem to be on Freebmd, as her birth cert would give you Mary's maiden name.
