Helping a friend to look for a polish airman, who was at Faichfield, Longside, Peterhead Scotland.
Name Stanislaw (Stanley) Minek or Malek during the WW11
Was with ground staff either with Squadron No 305, 315. 316. 318 ? possible from Deblin or Krakow.
Was there until July1947 at least.
If not can anyone tell me how I can find out, how I can trace the names of polish personel who was stationed there at that time please.

Many Poles seemed to have lived in Scotland at that time and many settled in Britain after the war, particularly in areas where work would be available, eg. The Midlands or dock areas.
Have you looked for records of him marrying / dying over here?

We were able to write to an address ( in London I think ? ) for information about someone who was in Scotland at that time with the Polish army and we even obtained a photograph.
Perhaps there is a similar resource for airmen ?

Have you thought of contacting the RAF museum for advice?

I 'm guessing that he is reputed to have fathered your friend.............

If still alive, he would be in his late 80's at least
