Unfortunately there are far too many Duckworth infant deaths registered in Burnley between 1897 and 1911 to able to pin point which one is the child of James and Mary.

Thank you for this i know about Winifred and Edward but not the child who died or whom Winifred or Edward possibly married.

as daughter Sarah Ann (died 1866) was born in 1864 it could be assumed that Mary died in childbirth and with so many young children Henry needed to re-marry fast!

I would suggest that is the correct marriage. A 2nd marriage for Henry. All the children on the 1871 census you have given the link for are on lancbmd with mm name = Rothwell up to 1864

The only one i can see that matches with correct fathers names attached is

10/01/1865 making all the children illegitimate
