Find Ancestors

I am researching a John Stuart who married Ann Marks in Twyford, Hampshire in 1822 and fathered Edmund, George and William. He was noted as a coachman / servant working for G Ward Esq of Shawford House, Twyford. Old family notes suggest he served in the Scots Greys (proximity of Twyford to Portsmouth may strengthen that re Waterloo etc) but I can find no records whatsoever of a death, birth or service. I presume he was born around 1780-90.

He must have died between 1825 and 1841.

Don't see Ann's death, which I would guess would also be Winchester.

and although you have found a record of his working in Twyford, he does not appear to have been born in Twyford, according to this:.

According to the baptism list above, Ann Marks was baptised on 21/09/1789, and her parents were Will and Leana.

Still no help re John, though. Sorry!
