Hi can anyone please help me I am trying to trace my grandmothers brother, who she has always maintained went to live is Australia.

I grew up hearing that he had gone there on the ten pound pom scheme in the 1960/70's. I have searched for both him his wife and child and I can not find them.
The problem is I can't ask my gran now as she is in the very late stages of alzheimers and hasn't got a clue who anyone is and she is the only surviving family member I no of.

His name is George Pickard Chapman and he was born in 1923 in Hunslet, Leeds. He married a women called Elsie Simpson in 1948, we believe that her maiden name was Gummerson as she was married before and divorced. They had a child called Linda Chapman born in 1950 in Leeds, and my mum seems to recall Elsie having a daughter to her first marriage but I cant find any records of it but will keep looking. Any scrap of information would be great just so I can put his disappearance to bed once and for all.
