A large brick wall regarding my Great Grandmother x 2

Elizabeth Fisher born 1812 Blithfield, Staffordshire. In 1834 she marries William Harrison Blore at Blithfield church. Between 1834 and 1836 the couple move to Westminster London where 2 children are born, Sophia in 1836 and William Antil in 1838 (have birth cert).
Then Elizabeth disappears, Cannot find a death, have already ordered 2 death certificates which were not my Elizabeth. In 1841 the children are living with their Grandparents in Derbyshire where they stay until grown up.

Cannot find either parents on the 1841 census, but received a confirmation from the royal archives at Windsor that William started work at Buckingham palace in 1840, they knew nothing about Elizabeth.

In 1845 William remarries, his marriage certificate states he is a widower, and they move to the Isle of Wight. (Osborne House)

Looking at it common sense says that Elizabeth died in Child birth but why no record of a death?

I've searched deaths in Staffordshire and Derbyshire as well as London.

What can I do next?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Helina, could you say which were the two incorrect death certificates just so we avoid offering them as possibles.

What was William's work at Buckingham Palace?

Do you have him on any census for reference please?

Do you know where or when he was born ?

How or where did you find that entry?

I did some research on the 1871 entry for Elizabeth Blore and think her parents where called George and Mary Blore.

This falls just before the remarriage, but there are several that fall post his second marriage, most but not all in Derbyshire.

They could have parted and she is living with someone else and taken his name?

Been thinking about it, its unlikely to be Elizabeth as William remarries in 1845.

Yes have just checked with the marriage certificate and William and Matilda married on the 27 Nov 1847, not 1845. So that death of Elizabeth Blore could well be my Great Grandmother x 2.

Another certificate needed. Thanks for your help.

helina Report 13 Mar 2013 08:11

Just as well I checked my certificates before ordering the death certificate. I already have it and the Elizabeth who died in 1847 was a widow, her husband had been called John.

So back to square one.
