Definitely the right chap - married Anna Maria Blight 12 October 1874 in Devonport. Prior to marriage his next of kin had been his mother Ann in Galway.

Before his enlistment he'd been a commercial clerk. It looks like he'd had previous service with the RA, enlisting in Liverpool in 1865.

He was 5' 8" tall, fresh complexion, hazel eyes and black hair.

There are numerous records on the IGI for Patrick Coyne born Ireland, but until you get the marriage cert, and find out his age and father's name, you can't identify the correct one..............assuming it is recorded. of course.

Emily's father is not with his family in either 1891 or 1901

I can't find Patrick with his wife on any census. Do you know what his occupation was? They seemed to move around a lot as one child born India and one born Swiz Canal. Others born Essex and Cornwall.
