Are you sure the 'long lost family' isn't getting confused and the death relates to the other set of twins?

Ask them if they've actually seen the documents - you know what they say about family stories!

No theres no record of a death either im rather confused. my grandad also has a seprate twin brother and sister ive found there record which have both which have got seperate records.

thanks for the advice i will look at the other set of twins see if there numbers match.

Have you found the death of the little girl if she was about 3 years old when she died?

Most Scottish birth certs have the time on them so that is not any indication that there was a twin.

What date are you looking at?

If not within the last 100 years you could view it on SP Have you viewed the page before and the page after ?

The only clue on the birth cert would be if a time of birth is given - but this might be a modern innovation, not sure!

As far as I know they would have the same birth record numbers but maybe if the twin was born dead they did'nt. I am not sure but think the only births that were recorded was if the baby had taken breath. Not sure about a still born.

I am sure someone on here can put you right.

I recently found out my grandad had a twin and she passed away at 3 years old.

my grand was scottish...so i have been looking at recoreds on scotlandspeople.gov

Ive found my grandads and great aunts and uncles records but cant find this twin....on birth records would it of mentioned that he was a twin.

It was something he never mention wefound out from long lost family a week ago.

I'm not sure were to go from this.
