How do you know that it is the correct Harry Partridge?
Did he marry, if so, have you that marriage certificate for his age?

At the moment I would say that Harry Partridge, 1878, is actually Henry, 1888.

Have you got the death reference for Mr Herniman from drowning in the River Lee?

Annie Turner's mother is Anne, aged 70 in 1901, to help find her.

That's the death I thought was correct, so who was it died in 1955?

Just noticed an anomaly - on the marriage of Anne Turner and Albert Course in 1875 her father's name is given as William Turner. On the marriage of Anne Herniman to John Partridge in 1897 her father is given as James Turner (occupation looks like Stock Marker)

Found Anne's mother in 1891 with one of her grandsons:

Graham - can you give us the details of the death that you have noted for the father of William and George?

Re: the 1901 that Patchem posted above, I do think that's the right one. I've looked at the other John & Anne (and variants) Partridges on the 1901 and the birthplaces just don't fit. The clincher is her mother Anne Turner living with them.

But there is no mention of a Harry born 1878? Harry is very often a nickname for Henry but the lad of that name with the family was born 1888?

EDIT: Is Percy Partridge on the 1901 actually Percy Course recorded under stepfather's name?

Graham, when I'm doing my own research I tend to ignore family lore and put it on the back burner. Once I've established hard facts by finding and verifying records I then use the family stories to put the meat on the bones. Very often there are inconsistencies between what has been told and what is correct. :-)
