I'm trying to find my birth mother jannet Stewart Born on or round about 1944 she married Alex knight from castelmilk Glasgow thay had a child born in 1968 I was the second child born 1969 I was adopted in 1977 my new name was Cowie she left on or around 1970 my sister s name is Alexis would love some information if anybody can help

Have you added yourself to the national adoption contact register?

She married in 1998 you have to order the cert

As Shirley says, you need to order that marriage certificate to make sure she is your sister.

If she is, I think you'll find her address on 192.com (pay to view) under the name Alexis E , with a John in the household. There is also a J. P. in the phone book in the same area. (BT online).

If you can't find these entries come back to the board once you've got the marriage certificate to confirm she is actually your sister, and I'm sure someone will PM you the details.

Divorce papers may help?
