was hoping someone who has access to the criminal register could do a look up for me.
Its for a Mary Ann Haley born 1812 Haliday.
The convictions are for 1869 and 1871 she was married to a John Haley and they lived in Shipley/Bradford.

Would like to check if this is the right person.

Both cases were tried at Leeds. There are no ages or addresses given.

From the innformation you have provided how is anyone able to "check if this is the right person"

MC has given you the CR details, but this could be any Mary Ann Haley as no age or marital status is given - nor an address to see if she was there on the 1871 census!

I've had a look in the newspaper archives for articles that relate to those trials. There seems to be a woman of that name in the Leeds area who was a serial offender (petty crimes).

She is described in one article as "a young woman known to the police" - I don't think that description would be used for a woman born 1812!

Barry, do you have any reason to believe your Mary Ann led a life of crime, or did you just happen across the records?

Just came across the records same name and region,but looking at it now probable not the same person

Well, it's probably a good thing that her reputation will remain untarnished! (unless you find anything else) :-)

..or could she have gone wrong after her husband died????????

That's not impossible Derek but if she did it wasn't the CRs posted above as the age is wrong per the corresponding newspaper articles.
