Mary Report 15 Mar 2013 16:36

The girl above is very complicated, she was born to mum Daisie Chivers Martin born to Jane Martin/Cameron.Born Woodensborough Kent.

Daisie 1880 -1935 supposedly married Beaumont thomas Jones and Edna May Jones born 26/2/1903 married Reginald Leslie Watcham with the surname of Leclerq (Edna may)died 1981

Daisie also supposedly married Maxime Charles Leclerck born 1880 in france.
They also had Duncan Cameron Leclerk/Q in 1906 died 1921 as Duncan Cameron Barker.
Very complicated tree on Ancestry, but looks as though it is a not the one that Danetree is looking for.

She does not appear on the 1911 census for Jersey

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Mar 2013 09:21

Perhaps Edna was some sort of servant?

But the certs are the way to go.......to try to get some facts.

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 14 Mar 2013 22:21

The surname features often on passenger lists to and from Canada too....so that could be another possiblity.

Do you know who registered her death and know whether or not her birthplace is shown?

If it is an overseas birth though, only country is likely to be indicated rather than actual birthplace.

If you have her marriage certificate it could state who her father was and what his living was,,,

Was he in the army?

Jersey doesnt have BDM online but the local history may be of help.

If she was born in 1907 she would not be recorded on a 1917 electoral roll as she would be nowhere near old enough to vote! That must be the 1937?

Was Edna May already in the household when your relative was born?

Did she and Douglas have children? (If so I guess you've already checked her maiden name on their birth records).

Danetree

Danetree Report 14 Mar 2013 21:57

Marie
Recorded on the 1917 electoral role as Leduc
Born 11/01/1907. Married name Chrisell only married the once in Edmonton/ Enfield 1937
Douglas Crisell. My reason for this search is that my relation grew up with Edna in the house, and only wondered about the connection later in life. That relation is now 93yrs and would love to find an answer.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 14 Mar 2013 21:04

Hello, was Leduc her maiden name or had she been previously married?

Just had a thought - there is a very helpful person on here who does look ups in Jersey - she may be able to find a Parish record ???

Her board name is Jersey Lily.

Grand-daughter is about to arrive but if no-one else has found her by then, I will see if I can locate her this evening.

You are correct, the Tuck children grew up with Edna but she was a mystery and still is. The tree on Ancestry is a good chance of being mine. And Jersey is a guess, as the
surname sounds french.
