Paul Report 17 Mar 2013 15:55

My cousin Thomasd Brock flew with 44(R)Sqn RAF and was lost without trace 22/23 Nov 1947 on ops to Stuttgart.
He married Rose Ellen Rowland 08 June 1936 in Fulham.

I am trying to trace any living relatives of Rose Ellen as I know Thomas was an only child.

If anyone knows of Rose Ellen Brock , I would appreciate some help.

Many thanks

Paul

For evans sake.......just noticed the RR

I have just had a thought. Is there someone who thinks report is the way to reply

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 17 Mar 2013 18:16

Don't think so Fredk - there's too much of it goes on and it happens on threads were the poster does know how to reply.

Not only that, when you click on report you have to select a reason.

Never having a reason to it I didn't know that

Another thought.................

Someone has been replying to posters by PM 'only' and not giving the info on the thread

Could it be 'him/her'

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 17 Mar 2013 18:49

Gins, surely no-one's that daft?

Gee

Gee Report 17 Mar 2013 18:51

You're soooo 'optimistic'!

Yes of course someone's that daft!

That way she gets to do all the searching, and take the credit...

betcha! ;-)

It's virtually impossible to use the report button and think its the reply button, You would need to have 1 brain cell less than a cabbage to go through the report system and not realise what you were doing. And regulars do no of someone who tries to use the PM system to stop others helping, and that person is not a very good researcher, personally i think thats why they prefer to do it in secret so as not to be proved wrong,

Using the pm system is OK for sensitive info but is actually detrimental to the quality of research for several obvious reasons,

Cynthia Report 17 Mar 2013 22:02

I have to admit that I hadn't thought of that either MC........but I suppose it's a possibility.

WHY anyone would do such a thing though, is beyond me! They're aren't any prizes being handed out are there.......or have I missed something?

Maybe someone thinks they will become famous....

Rose......I'm not called Cynical Cyn for nothing you know........ ;-)

Cynthia, "Maybe someone thinks they will become famous" you could be closer to the truth than you think.

This thread thanks someone who sent a pm directly without contributing to the thread.
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/living_relatives/thread/1321384

But Paul has not yet returned to this thread, which is what we are meant to be helping on, and I have only just read the original opening query.

Paul,
Have you got the marriage certificate for Rose's Father's name?
Thanks
