I don't think it is correct Marion.

Certificate 4b 177 is for Ernest W Steggall. He was born in 1893 as per the registration I posted above. In 1928 he married Ivy M Short so she will be the I M Steggall who was the informant at his death.

What are the details on the marriage certificate? Her father's name and occupation and her age etc. Who were the witnesses?

Alice Mary Collins married Ernest Steggalls on 30th October, 1920 at St Andrews Church Wickham Skeith 4a 2515.

Death Cert. Ernest Steggalls died 1932 in Norwich Hospital. Informant is recorded as I M Steggalls - wife. 4b 177. This could be a misprint as the certificate is typed and not handwritten.

I have a copy of both these certificates.

Thanks for the replies.
I have been in touch with the History Recorder for the village of Wickham Skeith. He has all the Parish Records to hand. There is no record of Alice Remarrying in the village. I will have to check with him if there is a record of Ernest dying and being buried in the village. The Stegalls are a very big family in Wickham and surrounding area and all branches seem to have used the same names for their children. Ernest was know as 'Wiffy' Stegalls - I have not found any reference to any children from this couple.

Maybe Alice re-married

Alice was born in 1890's in Wickham Skeith. She married Ernest Stegall in 4th quarter of 1920.
I have photos of her up until approx 1935 but after that I have no record of her other than a family rumour that she left the vilage and went to America or Australia via London. Does anyone have any knowledge of her. Ernest was not with her
