Trying to find ww1 records for John Hull service no 71917 DVR RE as stated on 1920 ER as absent voter living/address Harry Lodges Lane Gillingham Dorset.(family home)

Ive looked at the WW1 records on Ancestry, not seeing any records with the info you have given, be it medal card, Pension or service records, but be aware that apart from medal cards over 70% of these records were destroyed in WW2

However if he served after 1920 there is the possibility his records are still held by the MOD, so not yet in the public domain, in which case they have to be applied for.

Have a look on this link it explains who & how to apply for them. but i have to say they cos t £30-00 but free to the person themselves/widow, and can take 9 months to obtain them
