She is listed as Master Mariner's wife, so presumably her husband was away at sea at the time.

EDIT:

On second thoughts, it's probably not her, as this one's ten years too young.

no in 1851 she was a single lady elizabeth drummond she married in 1853 to edward johnson
There is also an elizabeth drummond who married john queenan in 1847 so in 1861 she would be elizabeth queenan also in sunderland census

Elizabeth drummond was born in sunderland 1831c there are two sunderland marriages to john queenan in 1847 and edward johnson in 1853

I originally though that elizabeth would only be 16 at the time of the marriage to john queenan so i was not sure that she was the one.but now her age matches can you bring up the 1861 census for elizabeth queenan

yes she is on 1861 census on f/m/p, and the 1901 census online has all census including 1861
