William Wyatt born 1837 Wigtown Scotland married a Charlotte ? born 1845 England; still trying to suss out her maiden name..Have tried several options, even the births of her children Charlotte, Grace, Edith, Arthur, Wallace, Janet don't shed any light. William was living in Wigtown with his mother Janet and sister Elizabeth (my direct line) and on the 1851 he is lodging with a half sister Janet and HIS own sister Elizabeth (cant find his mother Janet Wyatt nee Brown born c1801 Wigtown anywhere) I see him on the 1861 census St Pancras Middlesex aged 22 and unmarried, listed as upholsterer. His first child Charlotte E A Wyatt is born 1863 St Pancras. So he has married sometime 1861-1862 BUT I cant find it, so solve the surname issue...Can anyone help. :-(

Mmm this Jenie aged 52 on the 1871 census is the (half) sister of Elizabeth and William...I'm still looking for the mother Janet Wyatt nee Brown..Their father William Wyatt snr died in 1848 Wigtown... :-( and NO!! there are no surname listed for Charlotte, just first name

Nancy, are you saying that there is no MMN on any of the children's birth certs? Have you found the eldest, Charlotte, on any census with the family. I cannot find a birth for her.

This is a little odd - brother Arthur is listed with Wallace, but at a different address:

Mmm I did see that about the school, and wondered why they were at different addresses??? :-S

Yes! Gins, that my William with my gr great grandmother Elizabeth aged 10 and my g g great grandmother Jane aged 40...No sign of her after this

Looking at the school records for Wyatt at that school, there seem to have been two William Wyatts with children there - there are others with the Peace Street address. Have tried looking for the address in 1881 but nothing coming up. The only Wallace in the 1881 is living at Regents Bdgs!

Jeanie was born 1874 but not baptised until 1882. I wonder if Charlotte and William married later, hence the baptism being later?

William Wyatt born 1837 has been listed as "canvas agent" and upholtserer on most of the census records..He is still working as an upholsterer aged 61 on the 1901 census with daughter in law Lucy Wyatt aged 23 and grandson Wallace 6months. :-)

If so, the registrations and or baptisims, will not give you the mothers maiden name.
