Look for the marriage on freebmd - the 1911 census gives you an idea when it occured ie about 1889.

We could carry on travelling backwards, but would you prefer to research yourself once you have the MC?

many thanks we will send for marriage cert now and carry on from there. thanks again.
have placed a request on living relatives site for any body who would be in that family as we have some lovely photos of arthur and it would be so nice to name other people with him.
