Hi Im trying to trace my grandmothers brothers/siblings/parents. My grandmothers name was Florence Anne Smith (O'Leary once married) and was born in 1918 in west ham. I have no information on the father but the mothers name was also Florence, maiden name Nightengale. I am to believe that my grandmothers parents also had twins whom died at an early age but this hasn't been confirmed yet. If anyone has any information I would be very grateful for it no matter how small. Thank you.

There are a few births for Florence A Smith c 1918 but if you are sure this is the right one then the certificate will tell you her father's name.

not sure if im doing this correctly but in searching for who my gt grandmother married so that I can get the fathers name is near impossible .. it is just coming up with my gt grandmothers name and date of marriage .. not to who she married and the same with searching the birth records I cant seem to find fathers details on the birth record of my grand mother or her siblings. Sorry pretty new to all this searching.

You've been given the marriage for Florence's parents............and the 1911 census for them

Now look on freebmd for the rest of their children - including twins.

Take your time..............get used to how the site works..........although it is incredibly easy, so you should have no probs.

Then use freebmd to find out if the twins died young, as you've been led to believe

You must understand that the INDEX is just that...an index........for FULL details, you have to spend money on certs.

Helen has already posted Florence Nightingale's marriage to Alfred Smith in 1910

Buy the certificate to see who her father was
