Thanks Reggie, I am looking at Macclesfield because all the children seem to be christened there. I know no more than that.

First obvious question....where have you looked yourself?

Second.....are we to assume the marriage is between Harris and Ann?

And..............

Was Ann born in Macclesfield?

Or are you assuming the marriage took place there because the children were baptized in the town?

Alter your title to say Macclesfield marriages c1810 need help, or similar.
Because once I saw the 1861 census from title then I did not, initially, read any further.

Regrettably I seem to be into a common name - for Everton at least !
My target today is Emily Harris and the info I have found for her (and then got stuck) is :-

1911 Census
CLAUGHTON JAMES M 1858 53 Bradford
CLAUGHTON EMILY F 1858 53 Bradford
CLAUGHTON EDITH F 1888 23 Bradford
CLAUGHTON HILDA F 1896 15 Bradford
CLAUGHTON HERBERT M 1899 12 Bradford

Marriages Sep 1878
CLAUGHTON James Bradford,Y.
9b 176

HARRIS Emily Bradford, Y.
9b 176

1861 Census
Harris Emily 1857 Liverpool Kirkdale West Derby, Everton
Harris Cator 1859 Kirkdale Liverpool West Derby, Everton

If Cator is related then reversing Liverpool and Kirkdale seems odd.....

Please could someone see if Emily is with her parents and an only child in 1861

Many thanks,
Frances
