Could you post the record you say you found on Ancestry.............to show where you got that long list of names for the male.........

Mark

Mark Report 26 Mar 2013 12:00

The person on ancestry has obviously got it wrong. Mixing up both names ..

brummiejan

brummiejan Report 26 Mar 2013 12:00

Reggie, if you look at the Freebmd entry, Mark has combined both male names!!

Mark, a tip - you should have checked the marriage on Freebmd before posting your query, rather than taking it from another person's tree with no evidence. You would have seen the error immediately. That way it would have been a lot easier to search.

Mark Report 26 Mar 2013 12:07

I did look on freebmd to verifiy what was put on other tree and I could not find it af first ...

Reggie

Reggie Report 26 Mar 2013 12:08

That doesn't look like a marriage record...it's someone's tree. I can't view it, as I don't currently subscribe to Ancestry

You should use freebmd........as you have been advised so many times

NEVER trust a tree found on Ancestry..............unless proven sources are quoted

Yes, jan, I know what Mark's done................he's taken info from someone's tree.........NOT from a GRO record

Mark

Mark Report 26 Mar 2013 12:09

I did not take the information from someone else's tree I saw the info and tried to verify it for myself .........

Completely threw me. Went looking for Frederick

brummiejan

brummiejan Report 26 Mar 2013 12:12

Mark, I do not wish to bang on about this, but you did say there was a marriage for a 'Frederick Samuel Smith Shaw Vernon', which is not the case. This meant we were looking for a Frederick Vernon when the name is Samuel.
Just looking for marriage of Elizabeth Green found it straight away. You could have done this. is all I'm saying.
