I'm sorry if I sounded a little sharp on my last reply but it's been so long since I did anything on the family tree I'd honestly forgotten how to use Genes properly. I have now looked at all your replies and my link is definitely the one with John Thomas as his father, I therefore must have sent for the wrong marriage cert and this is where the confusion as set in because that shows Gethins dad as Henry, which is correct for that particular Gethin but not mine if that makes sense. I will now try and send for the correct marriage and death cert. The mention of the family moving to Derbyshire and then Yorkshire - Yorkshire def fits and I actually know where the Treeton address is, my Grandad was an Edwards and lived at Swallownest which is about 3 miles from Treeton so I'm pretty sure there's going to be a close link with Gethin - prob his dad was my Grandads uncle or something, I'll have a look. I did find - by visiting Treeton Cemetary a few years ago another Edwards - this time a George Edwards but my mum didn't think there was a family link, this is something else to look at, I have a photo of the gravestone aswell. Anyway, thankyou very very much for your hard work, it's much appreciated and has gone along way to getting me kick started again doing the tree which I deserted a couple of years ago.

I've just found Military Records which I think might be for your Gethin.....I'm just going to read through them.

In the next of kin it has

John Thomas Edwards address White House, High St, Mold; this has been crossed out and replaced with details of Gethin's wife

I can't make out the name of the Church but I think it says that it was in Derby

This Gethin was 23 yrs 3mths when he signed up on 18 March 1915; born Mold (another document gives year of birth as 1891) Occupation Motor Driver.

No children mentioned on Military Records.

I started my tree about 7 years ago but then what with one thing and another it got put on hold, I have today come across a marriage cert I sent for in 2008 for the above person.
PROBLEM:
I have a Gethin Llewelyn Edwards born to John Thomas Edwards and Margaret Ann Thomas in 1891 (5th Dec) reg 2.1.1892 Born Church Row, Pontyblyddyn, Flintshire. I have the birth cert for this one
I then trawled looking for details for his marriage cert, which I found and sednt for a copy of (or thought I'd found anyway), when it came it shows Gethin Llewelyn married to Selina Thomas on 30th Jan 1908, Gethin is shown as being 21 years but then I thought it can't be the same one because my original one would have only been 17 yrs of age, plus the fathers were different. My Gethin is son to John Thomas and this Gethin was son to Henry. This is the only mariage I can find for Gethin Llewelyn Edwards. It is possible of course my Gethin didn't marry. He did show up however aged 19 on the 1911 census still living at Mold, but I couldn't see any relatives with him.
I've tried to find Henry Edwards and then tried to tie in Gethin to him but nothing came up for that either. Selina Thomas's father was I think Edward Thomas.
Would anybody be kind enough to try to help with this problem. Just to add more confusion to the matter another Gethin Llewelyn was born June Qt 1902 but I don't know who his parents were, plus it doesn't solve the matter of Gethin on the marriage cert I've got.
SO: One born 1891 (mine) One born 1887 (according to 21yr old on marriage cert dated 1908) and then another born 1902
