Thank you Astra, I had wondered why I could not find a baptism record for a church in Donnington. Mary was married in Stow on the wold ( I am unsure how to write the name place as I live on the other side of the world and never come across it before).

There are no baptisms for Donnington Gloucestershire so either it didn't have it's own church or the records haven't been transcribed.
It is possible that as Stow is less than 2 miles away she was baptised there or in the nearest village with a church. (if indeed she was baptised at all).

The first village to the north is Longborough and there is this baptism.

From which Census

I am looking for any information about a ancestor called Mary Jones. I would really like to know who her parents were and were they were from.

From the census she was a born about 1794 in Donnington Gloucestershire.

She married a John Hodgkins in 1814 in stow -on wold? Gloucestershire.
They had several children including Harriet Hodgkins who was my 3x great grandmother. Harriet died young while her own children were young so nothing is know about Mary Jones.

Mary Hodgkins (nee Jones) died in 1879 in Gloucestershire.
