Thanks mgnv....the "Barker" did begin to worry me...........I think we can callit off from here, because my correspondent wot i am helping (!) seems fairly happy to acceptthe St. Pancras marriage...I think I'll just have a quiet explore on the Walker thing in previous genreations of the Isaac collins family.

Well it's obviously the same girl since in the record mgnv found, she is baptised as Maria W. Collins.

Thankyou everybody or your attempts to find the truth...........I find it hard to accept the St Pancras London information as valid, because there is no evidence that the family were very anywhere else but deepest Wiltshire.....and yet it appears that the Mother's maiden name was Holder thanks to mgnv's Wiltshire Records............I was actually lookingfor a MMN of Walker..because the whole point of my enquiry was that Maria Collins b.1847..married a John vale in 24.05.1871 under the name of Maria WALKER Collins! at Lyonshall Herefordshire
.as you've probably gathered, this is not my patch ,and i'm trying to help someone who has dragged me out of my comfort zone!!

would like to suggest the marriage that bev gave you is right. reason being that i found isaac the son,s christening on the 10th feb 1829 in sutton benger. which would suggest that ann was expecting him before she married on 8th may 1828.- this was quite common in those day, and there does,nt seem to be another marriage to match.

Would be eternally grateful if somebody can find a marriage for me:-

ISAAC COLLINS born 1791 Sutton Benger Wiltshire...appears on the 1851 Census with wife and several children (he died 1857)..allchildren born Sutton Benger.

Wife ANN is shown as from Worcester..and born about 1804.........can't find a marriage anywhere either in Worcs or Wilts or on IGI.
Can any kind ( and brilliant) soul help??
