Am helping a friend with his research and looking for info on
a Falik McAeron b abt 1800 Ireland.
I have him on 1851 Scottish census in Aberdeen, my reading of
his name Felix McAllon?? aged 51, I cannot find a death for him
in Scotland or a marriage for him. I am sorry I have no further info
about him, and I would appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Have you tried the IGI for a baptism and/or marriage?

For his death, you'll have to buy credits on SP

But you need to be certain of the correct name.......the census version seems more plausible

How did you work back to him?

'Emma' Report 30 Mar 2013 10:47

Hi Reggie,

Have credits for SP and came up with nothing.
I went with both names and still nothing.
My friend says it Falik McAeron, how he worked back to
him I don't know its on his side of the tree.
Thought if someone could find his birth in Ireland it would
be a start for me to help him.

The census gives you the surname of his wife at the time he married her.....not necessarily her birth name, of course. I have to say it also seems improbable

And the most likely version of the man's surname...........I would suggest

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 30 Mar 2013 10:52

We are looking for a Catharine Black as his wife but our Catharine
was b abt 1805 and in this census she is aged 60 where as our
Catharine would have been 46.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 30 Mar 2013 10:54

So why not look for Catherine's records?

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 30 Mar 2013 11:01

Well Reggie have looked and again another ancestor
who I cannot find a marriage or death for, I have a
marriage date for her marriage to William Trueman
on 3 Dec 1822 Aberdeen but I cannot find it.

Statutory Marriages Index

The statutory marriages index contains entries from the the civil registers of marriages for all Scotland, from 1855 until 2009.

The index does not include the full date of the event, because only the year was captured when the indexes were compiled, although the full date is present on register entries themselves

Sorry I meant statutory marriages. Do you have parish registrations?

Yes Gins Parish registrations sorry.

I did not find a death for William Trueman or Catharine,
did try her maiden name but with no luck which I feel
I must have missed something on them all somewhere
along the line.
