My g g uncle Daniel Lemon born 1826 in durham. I am very stuck on this one. His dad is John 1781 and mum is isabella 1793. I cant find his birth or baptism. I have found a possible marriage to Elizabeth Harrison and a son Jonah Black Lemon in the 1851 census but cant locate the family after this. The spelling of Lemon is different many times so have taken that into account. Any help much appreciated. Regards Kim

Hello Kim Annette - when/where was the possible marriage?

You really need to get the certificate to check if it's him.

With a son called Joseph Black Lemon, I'ld be looking at this marr
(EDIT oops - should have said Jonah Black Lemon)
Marriages Sep 1850 (>99%)
Black Elizabeth Newcastle T 25 336
Lemon Daniel Newcastle T 25 336
etc

Rather than this one:

Marriages Sep 1846 (>99%)
Foster Isabella Auckland 24 9
Harrison Elizabeth Auckland 24 9
Lemon Daniel Auckland 24 9
etc

A search at
http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/your-council/register-office/historical-searches
1850 LEMON Daniel
1850 BURDIS Elizabeth
1850 BLACK Elizabeth
Marriage venue - St John the Baptist
Register No./Entry No.
EJD11/84

Accessing thru http://www.northeastbmd.org.uk/ we see Dan didn't marry Eliz anyway.
Surname Forename(s) Year District
FOSTER Isabella 1846 Durham Western
LEMON Daniel 1846 Durham Western

Looks like Eliz was the widow Black:
Marriages Sep 1846 (>99%)
Black Jonathan Easington 24 112
Burdess Elizabeth Easington 24 112
etc
Surname Forename(s) Year District
BLACK Jonathan 1846 Durham Eastern
BURDESS Elizabeth 1846 Durham Eastern
Register No. - Entry No. - District
DE/C-E/F1 - 304 - Durham Eastern (1846)
[I think code F refers to St. Mary Easington]

Deaths Jun 1848 (>99%)
Black Jonathan Easington 24 91

Births Jun 1848 (>99%)
BLACK Jonathan Easington 24 151
[I think there's no local Durham Eastern birth transcriptions for the 1840s]
