Jeanette Report 3 Apr 2013 19:10

My Aunt Margaret (Maggie) Henry D.O.B. 20th Sept 1905 in Bedlington Northumberland. The family returned to Ireland around 1908 or just before. She immigrated to USA possibly New York, I don't know when but I know she was definitely there before 1932. She had a daughter named Maureen. Her husbands name was Eddie ??? surname may have been simmondson or something like that.
She died in America possibly in the 1980/1990's not sure.

Hello Jeanette, did you already have a thread about her - will see if I can find it .....

.... it somehow sounds familiar

EDIT: Can't find one so I'm imagining things or it was deleted.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 3 Apr 2013 19:22

Jeanette, do you know if she married before or after she went to USA?

Can you give us her parent's names? - there are a few Maggie Henry's of a similar age so want to get the right one.

That's looking good Andy

Morpeth covers Bedlington:

Births Jun 1900
HENRY Mary Ellen Morpeth 10b 451

I'm not finding anything likely in the US 1940 that resembles what Jeanette gives as a surname.

Working through the shipping lists, there was one with father Michael (wrong name) that I'd come across previously so definitely didn't imagine a previous thread.

To Anne
Thank you for the information. This is without doubt my Aunt Margaret. I have been trying for a very long time to find her. I now hope to trace her daughter Maureen or her family. I have no idea who she married or where she lives but would be grateful for any information. Regards Jeanette

To Marie Celeste
Yes this is indeed my Aunt Margaret. Also thank you for the information regarding her Aunt Delia Finnegan. I have heard that name mentioned but did not connect her
with the family.
Regards Jeanette
I will add a new tread to try and find my cousin Maureen or her family.
