Scotlands people is where you need to look

It is not a subscription site, so lookups are not on offer

Credits cost £7.00 for 30

You need Scotland's People site which is a pay to view site. For the marriage you would have to order the cert through them. You may be able to view the 1913 birth record .

Using the free search for each marriage year, there are 3 results for Thomas Driscoll
1940
1946
1948

There are no results in those specific years for
Catherine Brady.....Hayes
Catherine B ........Hayes
Catherine..........Hayes
Catherine............Brady
Catherine...............Brady-Hayes

Could the spelling be different?

There is one record for a birth of a Thomas Driscoll in 1913.

For full details including areas, you have to purchase credits

Oh well - I must have been doing something wrong ;-)

Edit - how are you entering the name?
Using
catherine hayes 1940-1940, all I'm getting is a death :-S

You ought to be able to order from Scotlandspeople, but if not, this link may help

Don't order the MC from that site as it is a commercial organisation. Their price list for an English BMD is £15 plus vat and we know that it is £9.25 from the gro. They probably have a profit built in with Scottish BMD as well

Jackie/Det

I am entering the names just as they are but without the Brady; entering the year range as 1940 to 1940 and selecting Greenock as the district. Had a spare credit so here is the result:

1 1940 DRISCOLL THOMAS HAYES CATHERINE BRADY GREENOCK WEST /RENFREW 564/02 0096 No Image

Jackie, there is an order box next to "No Image" clicking on it will bring up ordering info. As Det has posted, it will give you far more info than an English cert.

Thomas Driscoll married Catherine Brady Hayes in Greenock in 1940.
Thomas passed away in 1980 aged 67 in the same area.
Catherine died in 2002 aged 80 again in the same area.
You would have to order any of these certificates from Edinburgh if you wish to pursue your search.
This information is not available on line
As Catherine's death is the most recent it may be the best one to order as you will get the name of the person who registered the death

Regards,

Dougie

Thanks Dougie, I have ordered their marriage cert as I am hoping to find Thomas's fathers name and an address so that I can search backwards.

Potty - It's really strange. I still can't get the marriage up using catherine's name. :-S

I'm not registered/signed in - would that make any difference do you think?

Potty

Potty Report 8 Apr 2013 11:11

Det, if you can get the Driscoll marriages to come up, I can't see that not being signed in would make a difference. Very strange!

Then its just as well that Scotland is normally a no-go area for me :-D
