Hi there,

I have two William Cockerill being buried in Fylingdales, North Yorkshire in 1855 (aged 75) and 1859 (aged 70).

I am trying to work out which one probably relates to me ... can you help by finding them in the census? I have no idea where they where born and hope to find out through here.

Thanks,

Peter

Thank you Patchem - in 1841 does it seems like William Cockerill is with relatives? What is his occupation?

Thanks

Peter

Peter Report 7 Apr 2013 00:19

I am inclined to think the one born 1780 is my ancestor - thank you Patchem.

Peter

Peter Report 7 Apr 2013 00:20

Also - can we find a marriage for Mary born c. 1825 in Fylingdales?! This would help extend the family and help confirm a connection.

Thanks,

Peter

Patchem - I am having difficulty finding a marriage for Mary to asertain her maiden name.

Can you help?

Peter

Peter Report 7 Apr 2013 00:36

Thank you for the 1861.

I don't really want to work forward just yet as it is possible I don't connect to this familu just yet.

My ancestor Ann Wood (nee Cockerill) died in East Barnby, North Yorkshire in 1849 aged 37 - so born c. 1813. She was living in Danby in the late 1830s and then moved to Hinderwell where her husband was the local inkeeper.

I have looked for a baptism and found one in 1813 in Fylingdales, North Yorkshire to a William Cockerill and Ann.

There is a sister Margaret baptised in 1815.

So trying to link Mary Bedale to Margaret or another sibling?

Cheers,

Peter
