Unfortunately, when you get that far back you’re more reliant on Parish Records. Over time, they’ve been lost or have become illegible or may not be on line.

According to one site http://owenfamilyhistory.net/ParishReg.html Anglican parish records begin in 1538.

You might consider monument inscriptions which have survived in churches, Wills, Manorial rolls or Court judgements.

Yes I know! I found him on Family Central, and there are quite a few of his decendants listed there. Henry had 8 Children and the male line goes down to 1691. I am trying to find links into my family tree which starts with Samuel Rowe 1763. Although I have found other Rowes - William Rowe1638, and decsendants to 1690. all in this area I can't seem to link them up. Any suggestions how I can access earlier records?

That's rather a tall order Stephen! :-D

How did you reach his name? From a descendent or a sibling?
Have you used the 'search all trees' function to contact anyone else who may have him listed?
What, to your knowledge, happened to his sons - did they have descendents?

I am looking for the ancestors of Thomas Rowe 1552-1609. He lived in Rounds or Raunds Northamtronshire and had 3 sons Thomas Robert and Henry. Married in 1575.
