The only vaguely similar marriage in 1958 is between Stanley G. Aggett and Betty Crocker in Newton Abbot. (Mar. 1958 7a 1071).
Don't think it can be the right man.

If the marriage to Amy Beatrice Wood is correct I can not work out where the name Effie came from and I don`t think I ever will as there are no aunts or uncles still alive.

Effie may just have been a "pet" name, and bear no relation to whatever her real name might have been.

I am not planning to get the death cert at the moment as my cousin gets them so I will check with him to see if he will get it.
Yes it could be a " pet" name I had never thought of that.
