Hello,

I am currently researching my maternal family tree and I am trying to find information on my great-grandmother Isabella Robson and her family.

Isabella married my great-grandfather John Arthur Thompson on 8 March 1913 at Morpeth Registry Office in Northumberland. She was 22 at the time so she must have been born 1890 or possibly 1891.

At the time of her marriage to my great-grandfather she was living at 6 Rothesay Terrace, Bedlington Station. Her father was a farm labourer but was listed as deceased at the time of her marriage.

I know no further information of Isabella's father, nor do I have any information regarding her mother. I know that she had a sister called Ann(e). Isabella and her husband retired to Longframlington, Northumberland and she passed away circa 1965.

I would be very grateful for any assistance on tracing Isabella's parents and sister.

I don't have that information to hand but if I remember correctly the witnesses were from my great-grandfathers family and I've already made great progress with that side of the family. At the moment I'm really stumped with the Robson's...

EDIT - Trees on ancestry has this Isabella marrying Charles Wagstaff

The first John Arthur Thompson on the list information you have posted, who is from Rothbury is my great-grandfather. The 1901 census lists the family living at Willington then the 1911 census lists them living in Lanchester, Durham.

I'm not sure how he met and married Isabella, who as I say was living in Bedlington Station, Northumberland when they married in March 1913...

Thank you Maddie. As far as I am aware Isabella only had one sister and there has been no mention of brothers but I guess that not to say there wasn't any (most families had lots of siblings back then), so i will do some digging on the information that you have provided.
