Hi Jan
Jax found one the other day.
Ann Connor born and baptised same day 20th March 1853.
Parents Michael and Jane Connor.
Not been able to find a marriage though and it is possible they married in Ireland.
I always thought that Ann's mother would have been called Mary or Jane or both as Ann's first daughter was called Hannah after Paternal Grandmother and 2nd daughter Mary Jane.
Thank you anyway for your time.
Regards Teresa

Have explored the address but doesn't help as far as I can tell.
Has anybody checked out Liverpool catholic baptisms? There are 2 with father Michael showing 1853-55 (and no doubt others later!) , but I only have basic membership so can't see any details.

It's very tricky as you say, with such a common name, and even if him this doesn't help too much - occupation is dock labourer:

Hi Jan and Gwyn.
This does look like my family, on her marriage certificate in 1875 Ann says she is 22yrs old.
The Mary Murphy 15 as granddaughter looks to be same one as 5yr old Orphan, lodger in the 1861, wonder if they sort of adopted her!!
She couldn't really be Michael's granddaughter and I have never heard of her mentioned in the family!!
Another mystery.
Thanks very much Teresa.

So many possibilities, its very difficult which way to go.
I can't even find a marriage for a Michael Connor/Connors/O'Connor to Jane in the year or so before Ann's birth!!

Jax. Thank-you for that info, can try and find a marriage for Ann's parents now. I know that Ann's mother died either in childbirth or not long afterwards, so I will try for their marriage and then her Mothers death, see if I can tie them in.

Hi Vera,
that is the one I think could be Ann and her Father Michael, but I cannot be sure, as Connor is such a common name and I don't have any more info on Michael except that he was born in Ireland.
Teresa

I know that Michael was a Stoker on a ship at some point.

I am guessing you have her marriage cert - if so, can you please say what her father's occupation was, names of witnesses and the address she gave?
