Stuart - Sorry this will be my last question, I reposted because the last thread had seem to vanish, which was down to a computer glitch.

Thelma - This may well be her, right age and area, The Irish roots, Liverpool being the second capital of Ireland, plus her family name is from the Scots planted in Ulster, from the Dumfires area.

This would also explain Adam Aitchison marrying in Liverpool, as a shipwright he was in the right place for working on ships.

I have pointed out the previous thread as you have answers there about this family and have posed the same question as above re Agnes Edgar. It's much easier for helpers if you keep to one thread about the same family/person so all research is kept in one place and isn't duplicated over and over.

Thanks, but I'm trying to track down where Agnes Edgar was born, not where she married. I know that her husband Adam Aitchison is from Dumfries, but did he meet and marry a local girl from Liverpool or is she also from Scotland?

Have now found record of Agnes Aitchison's (nee Edgar) death Q1 1944, son Joseph also born Q1 1844 (died Q3 1844). I think my best guess is that Agnes died either in childbirth or shortly after? She is shown as 29 in the 1841 census making her born 1811 or 1812

I don't suppose that some kind soul could tell me where Agnes Edgar was born?

I have found a record of a baptism is May 1811 of a Agnes Edgar in Dumfriesshire (place of Adam's birth) although the fact that they married in Liverpool in 1840, sort of muddies the water here?

Thanks to those who helped earlier have now found an IGI record of baptism for a Jannet Matheson Aitchison that matches exactly. Curious to know where the Matheson comes from?
