James parents were: George Heather born abt 1813 in West Sussex, he married Caroline Toppin, he may have remarried again to a person with the surname: Mayner or Maner ? George parents were: Thomas Heather and Sarah Woodroffe born abt 1775 in Petworth area, W.Sussex. Thomas Heather parents were: Thomas Heather and Martha Trimmer, or Richard Heather and Katherine Christmas ? So, who are Thomas Heather's born abt 1775, correct parents ?

BROADWATER POST MILL (TQ 136 058)

The first indication of this mill's existence is its appearance on a map of 1780. In 1792 the miller was Thomas Heather. By 1796 he had been replaced by Edward Penfold, who upon his death in 1837 was described in an obituary in the Brighton Gazette as "one of those primitive, unaspiring and true old English hearted yeomen, of whom we regret to say so few are left."
