Hoping to find help with claude hickling who married gertrude rowlstone in 1925 in nottinghamshire. They had four children, including peter j hickling born in 1930.
I think he is the claude hickling who was born in 1896 in somerset, so wondered if anyone could spot him on the 1901 census to confirm this?

There are 2 more likely matches for the marriage, both have middle names starting with A.

The 1901 or 1911 census won't confirm which one she married.... you'd need the certificate for that or some other evidence.

I have not been able to find another claude hickling , or claude a hickling, born anywhere else. So i am presuming it is this one. it is definately gertrude born in 1906. They are definately in nottinghamshire after their marriage.
gwyn, what other claude hicklings are there born about the right time with middle name beginning with A?

Freebmd shows a Claud born c. 1890....but I've just looked and he died as a child.

oh thanks gwyn, thats the one, his middle name was albert so thats good. I could not find that on freebmd at all. strange.
Thanks for that. Not sure yet who his parents are, so the bath/somerset one is not correct. Can anyone find claude albert hickling born nottingham 1905 on the 1911 census then? that would be good, cos hopefully he would still be with his parents??

It wouldn't pick that up....

thanks reggie for linking the threads. i never noticed the claud without the e, so thanks for that.
Definately confirmed that elizabeth hickling hasnt seen her brother sin ce the late sixties. So he defiantely did not go to his dads funeral.
