Fredk

I do not have access to the 1911 Census, but tht does look as though it could be my Jane. Is there any other information on Jane Matilda on the 1911 Census.

If it is her then I wonder how she came to be so far from home. My grandmother was so particular about her family - in later life she took out life insurance policies for all the family sisters, brothers and their children. I have never heard about Jane until today.

She turned up on page 64 Baptisms St. Stephens Southwark, Surrey Page 64. It was tucked in behind those on Page 46 of Johanna and Thomas. I got a bit of a shock that there was another sister called Jane.

I do wonder what happened to her.

Fredk, Many thanks the second birth is my Jane Ref: 1d 35. As I have only just found out about her I will have to send for certificate - it takes about three weeks from UK to NZ so may have to wait a bit.

Trying to find out more in the meantime, might get a marriage cert to send for.

I also saw the Jane Matilda Ref 1d 115, but it does not match the born month. Date on Baptism gives birth date as 2nd April 1888 although both births are Southwark.

Would love to find someone coming forward as so far not got much further with brothers Thomas and William Turner jnr. my grandmother's brothers and Amy Turner's (sister) descendants have no idea about the rest of the family.

Help!!!

Thanks,

Sappho

Hello from Christchurch NZ

K this is my Jane - my grandmother Johanna b. 1880 is her sister as William and Amy are their parents. Thank you.

Now why is she not with them as she was born 1888 - only 13 years. She could have been i n Service as suggested by Fredk. Thank you - did not think of that.

I have her baptism details which is what alerted me to her being a close family member, but what happened to her. Did she marry? Did she die young? I am puzzled as I have searched trees for her without much luck. 79 trees, but cannot find Jane Matilda connection.

Many, many thanks; any other ideas?

I am trying to trace my grand aunt Jane Matilda Turner b, 1888. I have only just found out that my grandmother has another sister and this is Jane M. I can find her birth - 2nd April, 1888. St. Saviour, Southwark 1d 35, but I cannot find what happened to her.

Tried to find her on the Census 1901 without luck; no marriage shows up and I cannot see a death under the Turner family.

Any ideas. I have had a previous thread (sorry tried to find the thread number) on my grandmother's brother Thomas Turner - under Thomas Turner b 1911 (his son) so there is some family information on that, but this is so new to me that it is a new thread really.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Sappho
