Sorry for not replying sooner, got called away to the phone and could not get off!!

The death in 1926 is correct as well as the birth in Kensington.

Neither census results look right as the father for the 1st one is wrong and the second seems to match the location and age of the other Walter John Day.

His full name was Walter John Thomas Day, married Rosie Doris Lucas in 1921, jobs (taken from marriage & death certificates) were painter/decorator and master builder. From the marriage certificate, his father was Walter William Day, who was deceased in 1921 and Walter J is shown a a widower, so has been married before.
I have ordered his birth certificate to find out his mother's name and try and track that way to find a census record

I received the certificate for Walter John Thomas Day and his father is shown as Walter Tom (Thomas?) (General Grocer) and Elizabeth Lester living at 23 Manchester Road, Kensington, London.

I have tred to find a marriage but cannot find one. I sit possible to search the 1881 or 1891 census using the address?

You say that you know that he married Rosie Doris Lucas in 1921 and his father's name was Walter William Day but on the Birth Certificate that you got his father's name was Walter Tom Day. I suppose it's possible that he had forgotten what his father's middle name was.

Have searched on that address. No number 23 coming up for 1881 and a family called Allard living there in 1891.

Regarding the middle names, its a bit odd but I have both certs so it might be he was William Thomas (double barrelled like his lad).
