Find Ancestors

Trying to find info on my Great/Great/Grandfather John Griffiths, born 1837. On my Greatgrandfather's (Robert Lloyd Griffiths b 1864) birth certificate it states his father...John Griffiths and mother....Mary Ann (no surname). I have hit an absolute deadend re his details., who he was married to, and if he had been married before or after Robert's birth. Hope this makes sense.

I believe John Griffiths was born in Holywell, Flintshire, Wales, His son Robert Lloyd was also born in Flintshire. Robert's wife was Elizabeth Ann Lythgoe and were married March 1866. Their son (my grandfather) John James was born in 1889 and travelled to Australia in 1912. It is so difficult to conduct research via the internet only when one is on the other side of the world. I am truely stuck with John's (b1837) marriage, so any assistance is enormously appreciated.
