McCormick/Dorman from Ireland

Having real difficulty in finding several ancestors from Ireland - Alexander McCormick b. 1806 - married Helen Thomson b. 1806 but don't know where in Ireland. They had 6 children - Mary 1826, William 1829, John 1834 all born in Ireland. Alexander 1832, Robert 1836 and Janet (Tess) 1839 all born in Ballantrae Scotland. All census just tell me Ireland but no County. The McCormicks were connected to the Dormans - also from Ireland. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I have a marriage and death certificate for Thomas McCormick son of Alexander and Helen Thomson so luckily got Helen's maiden name from that.
