Last Name Jinks, Alfred. 1800s. My grandfather Frank Jinks was sent to live his Aunt Eliza Seager till the age of 9 when he was put in an orphanage, any help on finding out what happened to Alfred Jinks and wife Suzanne Seager would certainly be a milestone for me. Seems there was a change of name from Jinks to Jenks or vice versa. Frank Jinks may have been given to Eliza Seager to raise. Maybe too many children. Eliza went to live with Frank and Annie Jinks when they married.
I have been trying to find out why he was adopted and then went to live as an orphan . I have my grandfathers bible inscripted from Aunt Elliza upon his entrance to the orphanage. dated 1891. She states she adopted him at the age of 13months to the age of 9. They tell this happened alot at those times when they couldn't care for more children. Judith :-) :-(

Could you tell us if you know anything about why Penny's post was been requested for review, as I cannot recollect that it had anything in it that would justify that happening?

There is not necessarily a change of name, just the way it was written and pronounced by different people.

Have I found the correct people in the censuses that I posted, as they do not fit with the Alfred Jinks, 1860, in your tree?
