i am trying to find information regarding a Philip Ian Price born , he was adopted by George Henry Price & Daisy May Price, formally Lidlow. I know around 1966 George was aged approx 51 & Daisy was aged 47, but I cannot find any records for them , only the marriage listing. It's like these 3 people never existed except for the paperwork I have.

Any help please would be very much appreciated so I can continue further the search

Paul, can you say what sort of information you are after exactly, and what your connection is please?
A tip - you need to remove Philip's exact birth date from your post as it reveals too much, and your thread might get reported and deleted if you don't.
ADDED - I see what you mean re. Daisy - I too can only see a marriage for her. Are you sure this is her maiden name? There is always the option to get the marriage cert, if that is the sort of info you are after? It would give there ages etc. at least.

?
DAISY MAY PRICE "Dolly" Passed away on 28th June aged 94 years. Dearly missed by Tony and Melloney, Ryan and Josh. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday 17th July 2012 at Tunbridge...
(Probably just co-incidence, but age is close)

Added:
Marriage is Tonbridge, so probably her.

Brummiejan

The connection is with my partner as she was with this family before they put her into care, after her birth mother vanished. The details were in her adoption papers, at one stage the prices were going to adopt her but couldn't for health reasons, philip was older but had been adopted in few years earlier.

Where did you get the information from do you have a link ?

Sorry, should have named sources:

There is this birth, but very speculative:
Births Dec 1917
Fuller Daisy M Fuller Tonbridge 2a 1169

There are several births in Tonbridge for Lidlows (it is an unusual name).

Just wondered if Daisy was unofficially adopted?

Paul Report 7 May 2013 20:05

patchem i am also wondering whether Philip was adopted for a second time as well, according to papers we got he was officially adopted through lambeth in 1962, but again can't find him anywhere. I wouldn't know if Daisy had been adopted or not, I know Henry had been in trouble with the law but again nothing turned up, I do have an address in 1966 that was in Lambeth again, philip is the one we are trying to find info about he could still be alive and could have some info about my other half's early years ?

Yes, sorry, I was side-tracked with the lack of Daisy May Lidlow information.

I was trying to find Tony and Melloney, but did not realise how popular Melloney is.

Worth looking in local newspaper archives for information about Daisy put in by family?

Paul Report 7 May 2013 22:05

tony might be philip who has gone back to his orginal name, melloney might be tony's wife, this is a important part of my partners life it would be great to a crumb or too that would lead us in the right direction. Thanks for help so far everyone.
Patchem I am guessing that Daisy maiden name is Lidlow as that was the only wedding i cud find where a daisy married the george henry price

As brummiejan posted, we cannot see a birth for a Daisy May Lidlow.
Wedding certificate for name of Father would be useful, possibly. Depends if any other leads turn up about Philip.

Autumnleaves

Autumnleaves Report 8 May 2013 01:58

Thinking that Lidlow may not have been Daisy Mays maiden name,I searched for Lidlow and just Daisy May-no surname and got the following.

George Stephen Ledlow (it is Lidlow) wed
Daisy Hudson in Islington in 1908 showing on 1911 census

Daisy Lidlow then marries
William Homer in Islington in 1938

There is also a death listed for Daisy Homer age 90 in
Southend -on-Sea - Birth date 14 th Sept.1889
age tallies with the Ledlow- Hudson marriage above and on 1911 census.
Do forgive if my old head has got it wrong

ages do seem to tally

Autumnleaves,

Paul has posted that Daisy May was about 47 in 1966, so born about 1919/1918.

Your Daisy would be about 77 in 1966.

yea gonna order the marriage cert today, hopefully that might shred some light, it seems odd that there is no birth cert for philip, even though there was an adoption order with lambeth County court in1962.

Paul Report 8 May 2013 13:55

just ordered marriage certificate for the price's & adoption record for Philip, so at least I will find out if he indeed was adopted by the Price's. Will post more info when I have it, it might be related to something one of you guys might find

I didn't think that adoption records could be obtained by anyone other than the adoptee?

Paul

Paul Report 8 May 2013 15:31

Reggie it's not the full adoption records it's an adoption certificate, apparently the equivalent of a birth certificate, you can't view them online yet.

Adopted Children Register: GRO maintains the Adopted Children Register (ACR). The Register contains the particulars of adoptions authorised by order of a court in England or Wales on or after 1 January 1927. The only information that is available from the Adopted Children Register is a certified certificated copy of an entry, which is the equivalent of a birth certificate for an adopted person.

Maybe Genes Reunited should think about having this register on their site

No worries Thank You Autumn leaves, a simple error we've all made them, don't give up. I'm just desperate for help so I can help my wife, who knows what pictures & info Philip or the prices might have if they are still alive.

Paul

Paul Report 15 May 2013 14:39

I've got the marriage certificate from 1958, Daisy was age 40 & George was aged 43, so it seems to be the couple. Daisy's father was called William James Lidlow and was deceased at the time, George's father was called James Edward Price and was also deceased at the time. The witnesses for the wedding were an M. Lidlow & also a C.P. Lidlow.

Trying to search for more now but if this info helps anyone else to help me then it will be greatly appreciated , anything to help solve this mystery.
