Thankyou all for trying to help me find details of my ancesters, all I know is that James John Rowe was married to my GreatGrandmother they got married in 1853 in Alverstoke Gosport, which was his second marriage his first wife was called Elizabeth James and I cannot find any trace of the marriage I have looked on BMD without any luck all I know is that I have traced James John Rowe back to Whitchurch tavistock Devon where he was born, he also had a son from his first marriage called James Ward Rowe but there is no record of his birth either,it is James John Rowes first marriage that I am looking for, and te death of his first wife.

There doesn't appear to be a birth for a James Rowe 1846/7 Portsmouth area, could James Ward Rowe have been born James Ward?

I had looked at that marriage you've posted. There does appear to be a Micah and Elizabeth Morris aged 25 and 27 on the 1851 census on the I of W with a 4 year old son, so possible that it was James Rowe and Jane Hurst who married???
