Looking for information on James.
His father was a John Stevens. He married Emily Amelia Thompson nee Wallis 12 oct 1919. Both were widows
James joined Navy 16 Sept 1998. Gave his birthday as 10 Aug 1880 but this is strongly believed to be false.

Cannot find him in
births
1881 census (okay may not jave been born
1891 census when he would have been 10
1901 census maybe away at sea
Any info re James, his family, his first wife, father, mother, siblings appreciated

All this appears correct and corresponds to his signing on 16 sept 1998 but family rumour is that he lied about age... and what else ???

Emily Amelia Thompson was second marriage for both. Her maiden name was Wallis and in 1919 resident Baker St Burham Kent. James father John gave occupation as General Labourer on marriage detail. One of the witnesses was Albert Edward Stevens
Just believed base was Kent but KempinaPartyhat data re Bath has the right age . Record seems to be missing father who was alive in 1919
