How on earth could McCabe get mistranscribed to Mc Lake. What did the original look like

Found by searhing for Isabella born 1850 +/- 2 years, spouse James living in Co Durham.

Gives a list of 80+, so doesn't take long to look for a possible match.

Hello,

Having difficulties finding the 1881 census in Sunderland for

James John McCabe b1854 Sunderland m1873
Isabella McCabe b1850 Gilesgate
John Andrew McCabe b1877 Sunderland

probably Isabella's brother William James Herring b1868 Sunderland also is living there

Chris
