I now have her marriage in Westoning 13/04/1846 showing her father was John King. Interesting that she made her 'mark' on the certificate yet later became licensee at the Bell Inn at Westoning. Perhaps the skill of counting money was all that was required. :-)

A tree on Ancestry says her parents are George King (1792-1857) and Elizabeth Sarah Champkin (1796-1862). Siblings Mary, 1818, Alice, 1819, William, 1823, George, 1826 and Naomi, 1828.

Whilst waiting for GRO certificate to clarify Charlotte's Death (previous posting) I wondered if anyone had access to Westoning Parish records.
Born in 1821, using census returns as guide, I have no parents for her as yet.
I find her 1881as a widow, then with husband William Taylor in 1871, 61, and 51 census rreturns but nothing prior to that. Anything else I've looked at has been illegible. Every census states Westoning as place of birth. Thank you.
