I don't think Eric has any idea of the mother's name...........that's what he's looking for

Basically Eric 'grew up with' Maurice and his family, so I am guessing a childhood friend? I think he knows names of mother and siblings from what he says.

the reason I want this info on Maurice is that as a retired
invalid I spend most of my time building family trees for
friends or anyone who wants there tree started.
but the main reason is I grew up with Maurice living in
teddington Middlesex.and would like to find his birth place
and his father who wasn't about when I was growing up.
he had 2.older brothers but as I cant find his birth details
I cant match mums maiden name.

The Scottish records aside, may be he was adopted?

As I pointed out above, a member on here has Maurice Sandison born in 1932 in Scotland.
A free search on Scotland's people for 1931 to 1933 reveals 3 hits for 'Maurice Sandison'.
So the most likely reason is not that he is illegitimate, but that he was born in Scotland.

That record does show a declared DOB 08 June 1932

As you say there is no birth record. I have checked 10 years+/-

There are many reasons for this, He may have changed his name, been born overseas.
His last name may have been transcribed in the records incorrectly.
However the most likely is that his mother was not married at the time of his birth so he would have been registered under her maiden name.

What we need is his mothers maiden name.

Have you tried looking for a birth under his mother's name, assuming you know it - not sure from what you say?

Eric, is there a particular reason why you need to find his birth details? You are right in that there is no birth record in England/Wales on Freebmd (you will find no census after 1911).
If all else fails you could get the marriage cert to find out his father's details. But as he was a friend, have you no idea of his birthplace?

I HAVE TRIED ALL CENSUS AND THERES NO RECORD
OF HIS BIRTH DETAILS WITH HIS MUMS MAIDEN NAME.
