keen to connect with other Marshalls.... nee Marshalls
my grandfather was

married Sarah Margaret Walsh on 17/06/1904
Sarah sadly passed on 2/3/1940
and Francis re married
Elizabeth Cavins in 1944

Francis had 20 children
i have 15 names,
i am keen to branch off as his daughters will have married

there is a vast amount of Marshall trees... Kilmarnock
and im hoping any other Marshall researchers will recognise some names

children of Francis & Sarah
Edith D 1983
Elizabeth D 2/2/1994.. Kilmarnock
Sadie D 8/4/1984
Susan Gibbon Marshall D 2001 Birmingham
Mary Jane Cairns Walsh Marshall D 1953

The best way to find out if any members have your family in their trees.........

Click on "Search Trees" above........and click on "Search All Trees" from the drop down menu.

If you find any connections, you can then message the tree owner/owners.

Cynthia Report 21 May 2013 13:03

Hello Georgette.

The best way by far, on this site, is for you to check the Search All Trees facility (under Search above).

If you put Marshall and Kilmarnock into the relative boxes, you will see that there are many members with those names in their trees.

You can go through them and , if you think you find some connections, you have the option of contacting the tree owner for further information.

It isn't impossible, but it's highly unlikely that any of them will spot your thread as it will pass down the page and pass into oblivion very quickly.

You should also be able to trace some names/marriages using freebmd.

Hope this helps. Cx

Cynthia Report 21 May 2013 13:04

You beat me to it there PH.... :-D

georgettetaylor Report 21 May 2013 13:21

thank you :D
ive gone threw the list of names on search trees,
came across 2 on the same tree and have sent a request to view :)
i shall look on the freebmd and see if can find any more info,
thanks again xx

GlasgowLass Report 21 May 2013 13:34

Are you sure that the same Francis Marshall married both of these women?
Do you have both marriage and death certs?

1) If he was born in 1883, it means he was over 60 when he married for a second time.
2) if he had a daughter named Elizabeth from his 1st marriage who apparently died in Kilmarnock in 1994, it doesn't stack up that he has another child also called Elizabeth with second wife!

Reggie Report 21 May 2013 13:40

Sending a 'request to view' is not likely to get a response. Most people object to such requests.

It would probably be more productive to send a message explaining why you think you are linked, and asking to share details

georgettetaylor Report 21 May 2013 13:55

thanks glasgowlass
i got all my info from a family member,
im just going to sit and read threw and see if its a mistake on my behalf or the info i have been giving
my mother is going to scotland in july and is going to get all certs and info to make sure everything adds up, and id also like this for my own interest,
researched at the regestry office for me, as speaking with them over the phone they offer a service to trace back,
thanks reggie, ill also do that in a jiffie

The most productive cert would probably be Euphemia's.

The informant may have been a relative. His/her details will be recorded.........and the address may be current

Reggie Report 21 May 2013 14:10

freebmd shows a 1946 marriage in Coventry for a Thomas W Marshall...........may be totally irrelevant, but worth bearing in mind

Reggie Report 21 May 2013 14:16

The 2001 death you mention doesn't show on FMP............was that definitely the woman's name when she died?
