The best way to find out if any members have your family in their trees.........

Click on "Search Trees" above........and click on "Search All Trees" from the drop down menu.

If you find any connections, you can then message the tree owner/owners.

Hello Georgette.

The best way by far, on this site, is for you to check the Search All Trees facility (under Search above).

If you put Marshall and Kilmarnock into the relative boxes, you will see that there are many members with those names in their trees.

You can go through them and , if you think you find some connections, you have the option of contacting the tree owner for further information.

It isn't impossible, but it's highly unlikely that any of them will spot your thread as it will pass down the page and pass into oblivion very quickly.

You should also be able to trace some names/marriages using freebmd.

Hope this helps. Cx

Georgette,
Are you sure that the same Francis Marshall married both of these women?
Do you have both marriage and death certs?

1) If he was born in 1883, it means he was over 60 when he married for a second time.
2) if he had a daughter named Elizabeth from his 1st marriage who apparently died in Kilmarnock in 1994, it doesn't stack up that he has another child also called Elizabeth with second wife!

Sending a 'request to view' is not likely to get a response. Most people object to such requests.

It would probably be more productive to send a message explaining why you think you are linked, and asking to share details

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 21 May 2013 14:10

freebmd shows a 1946 marriage in Coventry for a Thomas W Marshall...........may be totally irrelevant, but worth bearing in mind

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 21 May 2013 14:16

The 2001 death you mention doesn't show on FMP............was that definitely the woman's name when she died?
